BlueBird Plenary meeeting in Brussels

From May 21 til May 23 the BlueBird consortium met in Brussels for the second project plenary meeting and for several pilot visits. On the first day the beautiful Tour & Taxis site and GreenBiz building were visited that are part of the WeSmart pilot in Brussels. We received an excellent explanation from Pedro Wunsch on how WeSmart improves the PV energy sharing between and within the buildings that form an energy community.

On the second day of the PMB we were welcomed in the premises of BPIE where we discussed the different use cases, strategies, challenges, barriers and implementation plans for the 7 project pilots. In the evening we enjoyed an excellent diner in the Lebanese restaurant La chatelaine du Liban.

On day 3 we visited the KARNO / KOMFOR pilot in Profondeville in the south of Belgium where 20 new apartments are heated and cooled via a local district heating network sourced via both a geothermal and aerothermal heat pump.

Finally, we enjoyed an excellent lunch in the nearby restaurant Les 7 Meuses, with a fantastic view on the Meuse river.
