BlueBird Plenary meeeting in Bad Hindelang

On February 4-5, the 4th plenary meeting of the BlueBird project took place in the beautiful hotel and pilot site Prinz-Luitpold-Bad in Bad Hindelang, surrounded by the equally stunning Bavarian Alps.

We were warmly hosted by Andreas Klär from Elektrizitätswerk Hindelang eG. Together with the energy manager of the hotel he gave us an insightful tour showing the hotel's technical and energy installations. The visit covered, among others, the CHP systems, cooling installations, pellet boiler, hot water storage tank, battery system, and EV charging infrastructure, providing valuable context for the pilot activities at this site.

In between the meetings, we were able to enjoy the hotel’s extensive spa facilities, and the first day concluded with a memorable torch-lit evening walk through the mountains, ending at a restaurant serving traditional Bavarian specialities — a perfect mix of work, inspiration, and local culture.
