The DSO Interface and Knowledge Engine

BlueBird has produced a new white paper: The DSO Interface and Knowledge Engine – From InterConnect to BlueBird: Evolution of Distributed Semantic Communication for Energy Markets.

The paper presents how the DSO Interface, originally developed in the InterConnect project, is being adapted in BlueBird to address the project’s use cases and support semantic, interoperable communication between energy markets, flexibility management components, and building systems. It explains the role of the Knowledge Engine and the SAREF-based semantic approach in enabling structured, reusable, and scalable exchange of price and flexibility signals.

With this work, BlueBird continues advancing the practical deployment of interoperable solutions for building-integrated flexibility trading, bridging previous R&D results with real pilot implementation across different European contexts.
