SmartGreens Conference 2026
The Smart Greens conference brings together researchers and practitioners from all over the world to discuss how computing science can support combatting climate change.

In the 2026 edition of the event, Sonja Klingert gave a talk about the interaction and interdependence of social and technical flexibility that needs to be actively managed to make buildings a success story as active nodes in energy grids.
There was a lively discussion as more technically oriented researchers are currently realizing that it is not sufficient to develop the perfect algorithm – you also need to respect the needs of people affected in their daily lives.
