Nexgen User Webinar

On June 26 2026, WeSmart hosted its first Nexgen user webinar, led by Amira Dhorbani, Annie Desmadrille, and François Bordes. The event brought together around 50 participants, including energy community managers, local authorities, housing cooperatives, and project partners from France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
The webinar showcased the core functionalities of WeSmart’s Nexgen Energy Management System and demonstrated how to establish and manage an energy community, onboard participants, and maximise collective self-consumption. Beyond the technical aspects, it emphasised the value of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and user engagement in driving the energy transition.
The session also highlighted the connection with the BlueBird project, in which WeSmart acts as a technology partner. Within the project, WeSmart is deploying its energy community and optimisation solutions alongside innovations developed by the other consortium partners at its GreenBizz demonstration site in Brussels. Initiatives such as the Nexgen Academy demonstrate that the success of flexibility solutions depends not only on advanced technology but also on the human dimension. Informed users, active energy communities, and continuous knowledge exchange are essential for unlocking the full potential of energy flexibility.
By bridging research and real-world implementation, the insights and experiences gained through the Nexgen Academy can help transform innovative concepts developed within BlueBird into practical, scalable solutions that empower energy communities across Europe.
