Office Building in Poznan
This pilot focuses on the Enea Operator office building in Poznan. Here, the aim is to explore how predictive modelling, smart control, and user engagement can improve heating efficiency.

Key innovations include:
- Predictive modelling: day-ahead forecasting of heat demand provided via a district heating system, based on measurement data and control variables such as thermostat settings, serving as input for optimisation.
- Smart thermostat control: dynamic adjustments of remotely controllable thermostats to reduce heating costs while maintaining comfort.
- User engagement: a recommendation system guiding occupants to align with optimal system settings, i.e. convince them not to override the optimal system settings, ensuring efficiency without sacrificing comfort.
This pilot is jointly operated by Enea Operator, one of the largest electricity distribution system operators in Poland, and the Poznań Science and Networks Center (PSNC), a research and development center, and demonstrates how technical innovation and human behaviour can reinforce each other to accelerate the energy transition in buildings.
